Solstice wins top industry award
Best Ground-Mount Solar Farm 2015
Solstice Renewables has won a coveted award for the best ground-mount solar farm over 5 MW at the 2015 Solar Power Portal Awards held on October 14th at The Vox, NEC, Birmingham.
The award was presented to Solstice by Leo Johnson, author and sustainability expert, in recognition of the industry-leading standards achieved at its 20.4 MW solar farm at
“The awards highlight the outstanding projects currently in the industry, helping to reflect the good practice, professionalism, quality, safety and level of innovation,” said Solar Power Portal. “Manor Farm, Verwood, is an exemplar of best-practice in large-scale ground-mounted solar projects.”
The judges commended the project for its discreet, well-located position with optimum generation capability, implementing industry-leading biodiversity and ecological measures on low-grade land, with exceptionally good community benefits and excellent support from local people.

Solstice was also shortlisted for the award for best Community Benefits. The judging panel was drawn from throughout the industry and included Jonathan Scurlock, Chief Climate Change Adviser, National Farmers’ Union; Emma Bridge, CEO, Community Energy England; and Merlin Hyman, CEO, Regen SW.

Solstice Renewables was named one of the top 20 UK solar project developers by industry guru Finlay Colville of Solar Power Portal:

Merston Solar Farm and Meadow Blue Community energy were shortlisted for the Community Energy England 2016 Community Renewable Energy Project Award.
